But not as much as I had hoped. Here is he in July.

    Now last weekend.

I do think our deer are about 2 weeks behind you guys in WI and MN typically, so hopefully he can put on a few more inches. Unfortunately his left side isn’t nearly as impressive at the right.

Looks young to me. If only he could hide for another year. But I wouldn’t blame anyone for taking him.

I think he’s only 2.5, no more than 3.5 for sure. Hard to hide out there with headgear like that unfortunately. In 5 more years, we’ll have the property so good he won’t have to leave. Oh well, hopefully Dad or I get a shot at him. He’s be a PB for both of us.

I’m just happy to see a shooter running around.

I know I can’t wait for the velvet to come off. His right side is something else.

The problem is our country has several factors that play into mortality. The deer roam a lot and I’m sure like last year, all the neighbors probably know about him already. We are just 1 mile off the highway, but hopefully he doesn’t have the same demise as the drop tine buck from last year. Then there is rifle season, we have two neighbors that have large family hunts around us. If it’s brown it’s down.

Dad and I figure all we can do is keep improving our little patch of land and hope that by leaving this 80 alone all year will hold the deer, until rut of course.

Looks to me like he gained 4-5 inches in the pictures besides any mass increase. Very nice buck Kooty! Tough to pass especially if you think he might not make it and at the same time could become a true giant with one more year!

    Game time decision I think!
