    You guys remember those snake lights that you could wrap around a tree or something. I use mine to hold next to the ground. The light shines out over the leaves right next to the ground when tracking. For me its the best one i can think of and packs easily into a bag or fanny pack. Two batteries lasts me more than 5 hrs of tracking at night. Thier nice, no bending over, they illuminate the blood real well, easy to spot it.

    hey mossy,

    I never thought of that, I may have to get one of them and try that when it is getting dark. but usually when night is falling on us, we let it lay without pushing it and mark the last blood spot with some neon marking tape and pick up the trial the next morning. but then again, with the weather in the hunting seasons that we have had in the recent past years, I would take my chances and push that deer just so the meat don’t ruin.
