Cuddeback Capture question

I had my camera out the previous week and checked it today. The viewer said “Full” when i opened it I hit the “A” button to see how many pictures it took and it had taken 1 I brought the camera home and tried some things with it, but it still reads “Full” after it takes a picture…

What do i need to do to solve the problem? There are no pictures on the SD card. I had used the card with my Bushnell Trophy Cam so maybe that’s the problem?

Try a different card first thing? There was one type of card that just would not work in my cuddeback. Good luck, cameras are amazing but some of the most finnicky pieces of equipment we “get” to deal with

Im not a real tech guru, but this is what I would do. First make sure that the little slider on the side of the card is not in ‘lock’ position and that it is less that 2GB (Cudde says 2 or less for captures). Put it in computer and delete every thing off of it. I would then format the cam and card. The instructions for this are clearly labeled on the top of page 5 of this link.

    http://cuddeback.com/pdf/Troubleshooting/Tech%20Note%20-%20Capture%20and%20CaptureIR.pdf

If that doesn’t work. I would then try running the camera without the card. Turn cam on without card, make it take some pics, then turn cam off, insert card and turn cam on, wait for green light (next to card) to stop blinking, turn cam off, check to see if pics are on card.

If none of this works, Id bring it to where I bought it or send it to cudde. If they wont take care of it Id fill it with 3″ #2 Federals and buy what has worked for you in past All kidding aside, I have never had problems with my cuddebacks. The very first one that I bought with IR and video just dumped on me, wanna say its 8 years old or so, left out year round.

I think I remember reading you have to format the card once you move it to the Cudde after being the Bushnell. Here is how I would trouble shoot this:
    1. Format the card in the Cudde and test. No Go?
    2. Get a new $8.00 card at Wally World. No Go?
    3. Buy another Bushnell…
    4. Hope your Cudde is new enough you can just return to the retail store. I’ve not heard super positive info from any of these camera companies when it comes to warranty or service work.

    Good luck!

I havent owned a cuddy but many stealth cams and for me thier customer service has been unbelievable! Replaced many very old cameras with very little work on the consumers part other than calling or emailing, obtaining an RA#, and mailing. Good luck

I have sd cards that I only use in the capture. Do not format or use in other cameras. I also will not do a “mass” delete on the computer with the card while viewing. Designate a photo to always be on the sd card and only use it with your capture. That is what works for me when using captures. Good luck

working at Gander MTN in forest lake in the archery dept I talk to people every day about trail cams and I have heard more bad feedback about the cuddy capture and the capture ir than any other camera including other cuddybacks anything from going threw one set of batteries and then not working after the first set of batteries or not saving pics to sd cards and all pics being taken are all black

We used to run Cuddeback’s in recent years when they were “it” before the market got flooded with new cams. I have news for cuddeback, they are not “it” anymore. I run everything from wildview, stealthcam, and up to moultrie and and bushnell, with very few issues. We had similar issues on our Cudde’s, eating batteries, poor response time, would stop working after a little moisture, etc. I became un-impressed and we switched, although their customer service is pretty good.

Cuddeback has internal memory system so it’s able to save pictures without a memory card. I took the memory card out and armed the camera. The camera took several pictures, and i was able to upload them onto the memory card! Once the camera read the card after uploading the pictures onto my computer, the camera read “Full”. Meaning, the card is finished and i will have to buy another one Fantastic…

Card issue no doubt. Format every time and keep the Cudde cards separate
