Well last weekend I was able to get two more cameras out in the wood for a grand total of three….now the wait begins. I get very impatient. Did have one camera out from May 3 to May 15 when i checked it and had 188 pics…looks like two little bucks. I usually try to wait two to three weeks before checking them. Its a good thing they are not in my backyard cause i feel the temptation would be to great. Kinda wish it was already July to see how they are progressing. Oh well.

I hear ya – I’m impatient too and I want to check those cameras daily! I’m getting lots of vidoes and pictures along with some good bucks but it’s hard to tell which ones they are from last year. So now I’m even more impatient! I just keep on dumping more nutra deer mineral in hoping they grow faster so I can see which bucks are still alive!

It’s a vicious circle and I’m guessing once I know which bucks are on the hit list, I will be even more impatient for opening day.

Being as though most of my cameras are about 40 minutes away I tend to not check them as much. But it doesn’t help the waiting process!

I have no thoughts of reading mine.

My cameras are 250 miles away in another state. I always hope I get back to check them before they are full or the batteries are dead.

It’s all the more exciting when I do get to check them as they are typically full of photo’s.

ha, i wish i had your problems, now dont get me wrong, having a camera in my food plot 100 yds from my back door rocks, and not having to walk more than 5 minutes to get to my furthest camera (i have 5 out now and 5 more will go out this weekend) is pretty awesome but i for one check em WAY FLIPPIN TO OFTEN!!!!!!!!
i know if i ever catch a big un walking through id be drivin the section and sneakin peaks into the food plot constantly trying to catch a glimpse in person. last year when i put the food plot out right behind the barn (first ever plot 1 acre clover 1.5 of soybeans))i found myself drivin thru the yard shining the lights into the clover almost every night. DUMB DUMB DUMB!!!!! i had some pretty nice ones in there a few times but they got sick of me lookin at them and i never did see em again.

the key to trail cameras in my opinion, check them every 2-3 weeks at MOST and just because your camera can take 3 pictures ever 5-6 seconds, doesnt mean ya have to set it that way. a full card after a week does no one any good. and trust me there is nothing worse than grabbing a card and realizing its been full for over a week. as im sure many here know.
ok, there is something worse, getting to the camera after 3 weeks and realizing you didnt turn the mo fo on when you swapped cards last time. anyone ever done that????
