4187 pics since 4-16

    I went and checked a Antler Builder lick today and had 4187 pics form my Reconyx since 4-16-11. This camera shoots 3 pics then is quiet for 30 seconds.

    This buck has the best development I’ve seen so far from this lick. We just spread it out on the ground in this location about 1.5″ thick and left it alone. I am gong to take in another 25 lbs in a few weeks…They are wearing it out…

    That’s awesome Jeff! Had similar numbers on my new Covert camera over looking my monster raxx lick! Can’t wait for this fall!

    You had me scratching my head an I got to thinking so I went back and checked my data. Don’t want to try and stretch the truth with my findings. I was wrong about 2 things.

    My camera was set to take 3 pictures and then set 15 seconds not 30 seconds. My picture count was wrong as well I had 4130 pictures between April 16th at 10:47 AM and May 3rd at 3:01 AM. My batteries died on May 3rd at 3:01 AM. I didn’t get to take pics from May 3rd to the 9th. If the batteries had not died I would have had a lot more than the 4187 that I claimed. I am sorry for not researching the exact time-line/picture count/trigger speeds. It won’t happen again……

    Thats great…What kind of camera are you using and how do you have yours set up?

    Just purchased a new covert II assassin…has a 2gb card. Got it set on video mode and have to change out the card every 4-6 days because the card fills up too quick. I set for every 30 seconds. Deer are in there all times of the day.

    Wow that is a lot of pictures! How long does it take to look at that many pictures?

    Not long if your index finger presses the down arrow on a computer as fast as mine does now!….

    After running 10 Reconyx cameras since August of last year and looking at hundreds of thousands of pictures from deer feeders in 2010 and winter 2011, I can run threw 4000 pics pretty quickly. Sounds like a lot, but most of the pics are does and little ones that you have seen time and time again. You get a trained eye for the bucks and their antlers as you go through them. Looking at feeders and mineral stations is nothing like pics of trails and scrapes…You get many thousands of pictures very quickly when looking at established deer feeder locations……
