For once this year, I can say yes

Between a new kid, a new place to fix up, and this stupid work thing, life has not been too kind to me.

Plan on working at my place in Lake City Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so that leaves me to sleep in the boat all nights.

I’ve tried this weekend a number of times in the last few years and it always works out that I go out where I think I am alone and someone has their own fireworks show a mile away. When they are goin *BOOM*, I have never caught a fish. But the wife is leaving for a couple of days too.

Yesterday I had a very nice sized Channel cat smack a crankbait I was throwing. I thought I was going to have to follow him all the way to Hastings before I finally got him to the boat. Man those things can fight!

Would it be worth targeting them on Pool 2? I have no idea where to start. Glob of crawlers on the bottom? Wingdams, holes, snags?

I’ll second that… she and the boy are at the inlaws this weekend…
That gives me three nights with no questions….
And thank goodness she doesn’t peek at IDO.
Though some of the co-workers do…I’ll have to make sure that there aren’t any info leaks.

The daughter asked me last night to go fishing and was too tired from working. With the water still high and muddy in the river maybe we’ll hit the creek from a canoe and check out the holes. A lady here last spring got a 20 pound flathead in the same area were going to fish from the canoe. The water just got back to normal in the creeks so theres been no fishing pressure on any of the holes and they ought to be full.

Yeah baby here they come. Farm, you have it pretty good. I hear you even have a big foot or something chasing you. Those things you list are all awesome things that lots of people wish they had. No wind + removal of no wake = Many big channel cats.

A guy has to be pretty happy with what he has

Man I am just so excited to get on the water again, it is like a long lost friend you have not talked to, and then out of the blue you run into them, and it is just like old times. OK, I am choking up a little bit

When “fish camp” is complete, you have a standing invite to get to P4 for a little flathead chasing Kev, it just may be a year or so until I can get all the work done.

Ohh, I intentionally did not comment on the Sasquatch, after all, I think it was after Mr. Wiggum

Farm I think if you wanted to, with all the guys here, I’m sure that fish camp could be done really fast.

Wild horses couldn’t keep me away. I am trying to put something together for August on pool 4. There are still lots of variables. Same holds for you buddy. all you have to do is look at the extended weather forecast for madtown. If you see calm conditions with not much wind. Give a holler and head this way. I head out an hour or so before dark fish til we get tired. Could probably put you up for the night if needs be.

That would be great, Who’s in????

Actually, the main reason it will take that long is that stupid money thing. We did not want to take out a lot of loans to pay for it, so we are using the pay as you go theory. Do work when we have saved enough money. It is amazing how much money you can save when you stop doing things you enjoy, eating out, drinking pop, etc. The lifestyle takes a hit, but it will be all good in the long run.

I hope to get some pics up early next week of the work in progress. I am getting to the point where there is something to be proud of!

Yup that whole money thing can suck. As for getting it done fast the group thing would work. I’m sure a few would show up especially with fishing invoved after
