Shooting through Mesh

    What are your favorite broadheads for shooting through mesh windows, i just picked up two ameristep blinds and cant decied if i want to leave the mesh screens up or not.

    Any fixed blade should work. I’d be hesitant to use any mechanical or guillotine type heads.

    Use fixed Michanical ones will open up when they hit the mesh

    Most mechanical’s will work just fine thru mesh. Heads like Rocket (rubber band), NAP Spitfires are just a few that I have shot thru mesh. Rage heads will open. Alot depends on the mesh also.

    So can you still shoot accurately out to 40 yards through the mesh I have never shot through the mesh but sure would like to keep the mesh closed up instead of opening shooting holes also can you shoot through all types of mesh?

    Ive shot muzzy’s acurate out to 35 yards through mesh. Doesn’t change the impact at all. Ive never tried any other kinds but I would think that there is always a chance a mechanical could expand when it hits the mesh.

    I have shot several deer past 40 yds thru mesh with expandables and fixed heads. A while back I did a bunch of testing with different heads at different yardages thru mesh, just wanted to see for myself. The only expandable head I had a problem with thru mesh was Rage. Never did shoot past 60 yards. I leave my windows open for turkey.

    And yes, I have seen different types of mesh that come with different blinds. All of my shooting was done thru the Double Bull mesh, real fine headnet type mesh. Some of the “cheaper” blinds had mesh that was like 2-3x thicker. I would not any expandable thru that style mesh.
