My partents were up there last weekend. Due to the wind ended up in some of the smaller lakes that join Gull. 5, 1 lbs+ Crappies were pulled up Along with 4 limits. They also got into some nice bucket mouths.

hello everyone i want to first thank all the member and admin on ido hunting for sharing all of there stories and photos threw out this season, its been great year reading about everyones highs and lows threw out the year and checking out everyones photos . I know i dont post as much as alot of people do during the season but when opening day rolls around im on a mission I started my season off early hanging stand, trimming shooting lanes, putting minerals out, moving trail cams around, checking out areal photos and shooting my bow. With high expectations of the upcoming season and putting a big boy on the ground i was starting to worry when all of the pics i was getting where doe other than one vid clip of a lil buck with one 2 inch spike on one side but i wasnt going to let that get me down with plenty of doe showing up on cam during shooting hrs i was just going to have to weed them out threw out the season it hopes of somthing with horn showing up. So i did just that taking a nice doe around the end of sept with not having a cam due to leaving it on the truck at the boat launch after fishing i told myself its ok just going to have to get a new cam and put another one down . and i did just that on oct 18 and agin on oct 28 After that things seemed to quite down for me still seeing deer going to and from spots kept my hopes up enough to keep me climbing a tree day in and day out. I didnt get a chance to pull the trigger on anything agin till dec 8 :woot as some of you had seen from the post called 12-8-10 late season hunt that put my doe tally to 4 for the year determined to fill my last tag i told myself i was going to spend every day morning and night in a tree and i did just that 12-9-10 i made two long sits and never seen a deer but 12-10-10 was going to be a new day with a winter storm on the way and with a clear sky above me and pushed forward for yet another sit that morning was slow with only seeing one fawn so i got down headed home for a brief bite to eat and some brain storming…. i decided i was going to climb into that same fav tree of mine where i had taken a doe two days earlier that afternoon started out slow with a few turkey pecking around in the cut corn field but i held tight and kept looking at the blood stained snow from the doe i shot just days before knowing it only takes a min for a slow hunt to turn to great hunt and well…… it did just that i looked to my right and see a deer coming and its coming fast i take a double look and said to my self holy crap this ones got head gear while i was reaching for my gun he bolts threw running right over the blood stained snow from the doe i shot im thinking im not going to be able to get a shot he is moving way to fast i cocked the hammer right as he slowed to a trot and hooks right and slow to a walking checking the field before entering i gave a soft grunt to stop him and he stopped for a split second and starts to walk agin i gave one more grunt and he freezes long enough for me to settle down a dit and settle my sites behind the shoulder and let me have it he ran ten yards and walked off as i watched the snow behind him turn red i knew he had to be hit good after waiting 15-20 min i picked up the trail with plenty of blood to follow i felt good but when the trail turned and headed strait up a hill i started to second guess my shot but i kept following it with decent blood and shoot light left i just took my sweet time trailing him. After trailing for a lil bit i came across a bed and thought i maybe jumped him but never seen him get up and it was open enough to where i should of i thought about backing out but with the storm moving in i decided to push on after about another 40 yards i look ahead threw the brush and see the of a deer laying there i thought sweeeet hes down walked a lil closer to find my self about 15 yards away from my deer and hes not dead with a lil bit of light left i cocked the hammer and shouldered my gun and pulled the trigger and well it was alot less of a bang than what it should of been MISS FIRE!!! the deer gets up and bolts my heart sank what just happened i look up just in time to see that the deer was just about out of view when he falls in a dead run i grab my binos and look at him…… hes done hes not moving….. HES DOWN!!!!! im not sure what he will score and its prob not much and i dont care this ones my first buck with any kind of gun first deer in reel snow this season will be one i will never forget my first year %100 tagging out and put more effort into this season than any other if the past its been a great year yet agin full of highs and lows and i feel lucky to have been able to share it with all of you and be able to be part of your seasons as well agin i thank you all and good luck to those that still have time and tags left
