shot this buck this evening, have a sick little girl at home so my wife was home. we where waiting for call from doc to see if we had to bring her in again for the second time today. at 2:30 i ask if i could go to the woods, she said fine i will call you when the doc calls. so off to the woods i went got to stand at 3:00. we where text each other back and forth. i look up and saw a fawn walking at me put phone in pocket. look up and saw 2 bucks behind her on the trail. the first one was 10 that would score around 125 to 130. the second buck i knew very well we called him the short tine g-3 buck. i watch them as they came walking down the trail. i was going to shot one but which one? i have a rule when i’m in stand a 10 pointer has to be 150 or i’m not shooting it on my mom’s farm.so you know which one i shot. he no monster but i happy with him. i had seen him 75% of the time bowhunting. when i shot he ran 6 yards and stood there. i reach in my pocket for my phone to see my wife called 3 times. i hit redial as he tipped over. this is 3:35. she had to leave by 4:00 to go back to doc. i had him gutted and back home at 3:53. i don’t think i ran that fast since highschool. when i got home to watch are son as she took the baby to doc i got to thinking i have shot 3 out of 4 first bucks shot where with in 50 yards of each other. my bow, pistol, and now muzzleloader bucks. going to be a sad day when it sells.
here are some pics of him.
