Well heres the deer report from FAAAAAAAAAR north in northern mn. Bow season was long only killing a small fawn. but when the smokepoles come out, the deer mess with the best and die like the rest. JAkes buck: friday evening, two days before we were leaving. jake was sitting on the woodedge along this foodplot where we have seen bucks all fall. although we knew these bucks dont come out early enough usually, i told jake to sit till LAST light. sure enough, he came out of the swamp 5min to early and met a beautiful TC encore. perfect shot and ran 40yds. the rest is history. my doe came on the last day at the last hour. man was i nervous. i havent filled a tag in two years because of bad luck and missed opportunitites. but this doe came at the right time, met the wrong hunter, with the wrong weapon, in the right stand. and sure enough, the smokepole dropped er. so there the season ends. with two great kills. a perfect herd management doe and nice buck.
