Here is a pic of a buck that hangs on my wall, unfortunately I can not lay claim to him. This buck was found by a friend of mine that was home on leave from the navy. He and his brother were out pheasant hunting near the MN, IA border on Thanksgiving Day 1985 when they came across this buck that had been gored by another buck. The buck was still alive but could only crawl a little ways at a time. They contacted the DNR and got permission to put the buck down. I sure would have liked to seen the buck that but this one down! I took the deer to the MN deer classic and entered it in the non hunting category it scored 143.

It must be my year to shine ….I harvested this buck last night after work. I had about a half a hour left of daylight. No one was home so I thought it would be a good idea to walk above my house just to sit and relax with my 7 mm(3acres). About 15 minutes later the mother-in-law drops off my wife at home with all the kids. They start slamming all the doors and talking real loud, not knowing I am up in the woods. As they were walking in the house three deer kicked up behind my hobby barn and came running up the hill at me. Two does and this buck. The two does went screaming by with the buck right on their tail. I whistled and the buck stopped in its tracks. I had to unload. Three shots fired, two shots hit successfully. The deer ended up running down hill toward the house and exhausted 50 yards from the back door of my house. After it was all said and done the mother-in-law came up to me and said…Whew! I thought you were shooting at me. I said,”Maybe I was!”
9 points 18 1/2″ Inside spread.

I’m going to try and get more details. Thought you venison folks would be interested.
“He got it just south of north branch, right by our church.
Cabala’s sports has already offered him $50,000 for the mount!”

This is my nephew with a nice buck he took in our group in northern WI this year.
This buck weighed 167# field dressed and had a
18.5″ inside spread. Had 5 pts left side and 6 on the
right with a weird pocket in the main beam where the extra
point came out. Also had some extra kicker points around
the brow tines that were 1/2″ to 1 inch in length for a
total of 18.
Shot Wed night just before dark and not much blood.
We let it go and tracked it Turkey day morning. Of
course we had about an inch of fresh snow that night.
Figured we were tracking a wounded buck so I looped ahead
of him and a buddy and told him to yell loud and let me
know which way the track went when they hit the bottom of
the ravine. I heard a yell of East and started looping
that way when I heard a bunch of hoops and hollers in
another minute. I knew thay had found him. Made his
day!! His name is Chad Scheinoha from Manitowoc WI.
