My grandma shoots a 170+!!!!

    My 81 year old grandma shot this buck last night 15 minutes before shooting time. About ten years ago she started sitting in the stand with my grandpa, but never carried a gun. She instantly became obsessed with hunting, often forcing my grandpa to hunt every single day of the season so she could sit with him. Two years ago she shot a gun for the first time ever and was determined to get a deer. She shot a nice 8 point buck her first year and a doe during the T-zone this year. And now this one! She had her number one spotter, my grandpa, right by her side for the whole thing.

    All three deer were shot through the heart!

    175″ gross score, 12 points, 17 inches wide, 26 inch main beams, 11 inch tines.

    I’ll be taking some more pictures of it tomorrow, outside when it’s nicer out. I’ll post them then.

    What a great buck – but I love the story behind it even more! I would have loved to be a little mouse in that stand listening to what was said between them during and after the hunt. It’s pretty cool that they were hunting together and I’m guessing they have a special relationship.

    Congrats Grandma and you are an example for everyone to follow.

    I think it’s so cool to have both grandparents still active in deer hunting. Congrats to both of them and especially grandma for having nerves of steel!
