I have a funeral late Saturday morning and wont be able to make to my tree stand until the afternoon. The only possible way I could hunt is sitting on my grandfathers deck over looking his woods. His house is about 500′ from the road and the road is not well traveled. Does anyone know the law on this?
Yeah, that’s what I was afraid of.
In Minnesota it states in the law book. “On another person’s private land or a public right-of-way, a person may not take a wild animal with a firearm within 500 feet of a building occupied by humans or livestock without written permission of the owner, occupant, or lessee of the building” This is in Minnesota so im not sure about wisconsin. This was on page 6 of Minnesota’s law book under trespass law. Maybe it will be in Wisconsin’s under it to??

Pg 16 of the handbook states ….
It is illegal to shoot a firearm within 100 yards of a building devoted to human occupancy on lands you do not own without the permission of the owner or occupant of that building.
So I read that as if your have permission it’s legal . 
A Warden has a question and answer session at our Sports Club every year and this issue came up.If its your deck or home or you have perrmission to hunt there you can shoot from inside the house even. But you must also be in blaze orange and have your back tag on.
IF you have permission, blast away. Just make sure you’re not breaking the rules IF other homes are inside the foot requirement.
