Shortening a handle is ralatively easy if you have the right tools, epoxy and a few hand tools. The blanks run the entire length of the handle so there is no issue there, and you won’t hurt the blank but you will, drastically change the balance of the rod. I’ve built several rods for my friends with short handles and they all love them. If you have only 1 or 2 rods to shorten, I’d suggest taking them to a person who builds rods. He’ll have the materials needed, and can make the job look factory professional. Good luck

Just did the exact thing to 2 10’6 wild river trolling rods about a month or so ago. No big task, just takes a few hand tools and a few parts and your good to go. Let me know if you have any questions or if you need a little advice.

Once you’ve cut the ends off, be sure to find some rod balancers. This will eliminte the tip heaviness.

In Minnesota…Can I hunt in a 100 series area of the state (that is still open of course…) with a license that is for a 200 series area of the state (that is now closed of course…)for a buck…?

I think not but am unsure…RR

Great question. I would say no, but I’ve grown accustom to being wrong….

Yes you can! I contacted the DNR at 651-296-6157 and asked the “expert.” Giddy up!

Yup I have done this in the past if I still have an open tag when the zone three season ends I have headed north to extend my gun season.
