Awesome buck! Did you shoot it? It looks like the first two different hunters in the first 2 pictures. What’s the story behind the hunt and this cool buck?

My guess he will gross 165. Hard to tell because you can’t see all the points in the photos. I can only see 13.

I have a hard time seeing all the points also. I’d think 160’s too

Nice Buck !!! Brad if the guy in the picture that just got done gutting it was smiling,(or at least had a hat on) you could see it is the same guy Now the little guy in the 3rd picture, he looks tickled pink I would guess it will score around 170″ish

Little man looks like he is ready to go. Imagine it won’t be hard to coax him to get up in the morning to go

HaHa funny u should say that.My wifes in love with chuck and i think i was as close as she was going to get so she settled. And im a former pro mma fighter.

But anyway the story, wed morning one of my uncles herd a buck chaseing and grunting sitting in his car along side a big sec of crp grass at like 5:30am. And he didnt have permission on that property but new me and the old man did so he called us up and asked us to help him out. So me and dad got out of stand early and went over still not even knowing how big or even if it was a shooter. We figured it bed down with the does in their some were so we posted on a fence line and one guy did a big sweep of the grass. 5 does and a small buck came running over right at me. Then their was a pause. Then a doe and this big boy came over they winded me right away and tured right to my old man. 75 yards running all out he let 5 shots go and he kept running. I ran back to the truck and headed down the gravel road to get a look. I seen the deer run in to a pond he looked hit but not very bad. Their he layed down so we re-grouped. And as we were standing their he gets up and starts running for the big wooded valley, their he went in a big finger and we were bummin. Then my other uncle calls and said hes got a real big buck hes watching bedded in a section. So we figure lets give him time he probebly will lay down in their will go after him later. And headed to check out the other deer. And by the time we got overtheir he was gone. So we went and had lunch and then went back to put a drive on that valley. I told dad to go sit below the finger he ran in to and my uncle to another spot and sit. I figured I would do the walking since my uncle spotted it and my dad shot at it. And the walker usually never gets a shot. So i started walking in and got to the end of the drive and no deer, but there was one little finger off to the side of the woods that i skipped. I decided to go back and swing it, and as i was walking toward it i looked over and there he was laying. As soon as i saw him he saw me, and he jumped up and headed away from the sitters. I shot threw the brush, and hit him, but he kept going. As soon as he cleared the brush i shot again and he dropped like a stone. We knew he was a big deer but did not realize how big or how many points he had. He was a 16pointer with an 18 1/5 inside spread. Two points were broke off and he had a lot of mass. My taxidermist has not measured him yet but says he will go in the high 60’s to low 70’s. And yes my four year old boy tells me he can not wait to go shot a dear with his Daddy, when he get’s bigger.

    No kidding G!

If there is one thing that I stress to my boy is to finish out the drives, kick that lone brush pile and tromp that tall grass till the end. Seeeing bucks explode out of small quarters is pure adrenaline…..especially when you’re ready for em

Again, congrats on the beast tapout

I had this deer scored it came out to be 179 1/4. Ive shot many deer in the 130 and 140s. I ve been saying for years i need to get in a bigger class, and now that i did all i can think about is getting back out their after a bigger one. Will i ever end? I guess thats what makes it so fun and keeps a guy going back out year to year
