Just wondering if anyone has any opinion on this…would anyone take a shot with a bow of a deer facing you head on? I don’t think I would because it seems like the blood trail would be hard to follow (no exit wound). If oter people have taken this shot on a deer and it works, I might have to reconsider taking one

Personally I would not. That’s very low percentage shot in my opinion.

I would not recommend this shot. As Pat said it is a VERY low percentage shot.

Never with a bow, give me a bullet with some knock down power and it would be tougher to pass if the deer was not coming straight down a trail that would present a better shot eventually.

Ive made this shot on a deer 1 time and do not recomend it. I was lucky and the deer only went about 50 yards and I seen her die but as you stated no exit wound so I had no blood trail to follow had I needed to. Also this is something that can happen on the straight down shot. I will never make either of these shots again with a bow.

I would not make this shot either, but with that said, my brother has with a bow several years ago and made a great shot. (Have it on video too) The buck just happened to open the shoulder and he placed the arrow between the neck and shoulder blade…he didn’t make it 70 yards and had a ton of blood to follow on a rainy day. Of course this was back about 20 years ago too. I still wouldn’t take it though.
