    Thumper,

I was just happy to be able to come on down and help you out. I will be looking forward to that big steak dinner, just hope your motor doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg. just glad you got off the river without too much more damage done to your boat.

well redneck, if you needed me to come adn get you, you would be waiting there for an awfully long time, seeing how I would have to drive from the north side of town all the way down there. Dean is closer.

anyway, me and the boy will have to try to get down there, $$ is a little short here for a bit so trying to save up.

Two years ago i had a chance at a mature deer with my muzzleloader. At 80 yards the CVA hit its mark but after tracking the next two days no sign of blood out of the last bed he made we pretty much through in the towel and talked to land owners in the area if they seen him, and gave my number so they could call me. Anyway that season was done and no calls, until the last day of bow season they jumped him and one guy got a crack at him with the bow but no luck. Last year my sister and law was sitting in the same stand i had a shot at this buck we call wackey rack, which is the same one i hit the year prior. With no luck she shot right over his back, and no one seen this deer till this year. Well saturday came around and I get the call that wackey rack is down, the land owners son and law finally put him down for good. He was a 8-1/2 7 pointwhere he gets his name wackey with a left side measuring 67-1/2 the right side only had two points on it all and all the buck measured out at 115-7/8. When skinning it out we seen where i had hit him two years prior, the bullet hole was a 1/4 from the spine and 1/4 from the shoulder so 1/4 either way he would have been on my wall, oh well congrats the guy who got him and thats why i always say thats why its hunting and not killing.

powerbilt 270grain with triple 7 powder. I’m only shooting a 100 grains of powder though, im thinking this year sighting the old smoke pole with 150 grains instead of a 100 grains. Its dead on at a 100 yards with the 100 grains powder do you think i didnt have enough punch or what???

Yet another powerbelt story. Throw them away and get anything else! Seriously, they perform well for targets but not on game. Sorry to hear.

It’s always hard to hear a buck that you are pursuing gets taken by the neighbors. Pat yourself on the back for getting a crack at him and for the encounter that you had. You were in the right spot at the right time.
