Well Finally got a buck of my own. Sat Friday night with my bow and had a really good encounter with a 125-130 inch 8 pointer just couldn’t get a shot. Spent the rest of the evening listening to him chasing a doe around. Then saturday morning went out with the rifle to the same stand. Got up extra early and was in the stand 40 minutes before shooting time. Then the moment I was waiting for. I heard running and looked up the ridge and saw a buck chasing a doe hard into the thicket. They stopped out of sight and I gave him a grunt. I waited and assumed they mad eit into the thicket but then saw movement. And it was heading my way. I got ready and saw antlers, so I shouldered my rifle and saw a lot more antler than I thought there was. I hammered him at 60 yards, he ran 50 and piled up. I couldn’t wait and when I got there he was bigger than i thought. No ground shrinkage here. I was so pumped I couldn’t even dial a number to call. Feels great to put another one on the wall.

Nice work Dan. Way to make it happen! Sounds like you made a great shot and picked the right stand with the “hot doe”. Congrats on great buck. ->>>————–>

Something I have never done and that is put a big buck done with a high powered rifle. Handgun yes, rifle, no. Way to him….

Congrats Dan! Reverse ground shrinkage is ALWAYS a good thing.
