I’m in the market for another scouting camera. Currently I have an hco scoutguard and two cheaper moultries. I’ve been looking at the bushels trophy cam. I’ve read there were some problems with this camera. Has anyone had issues. Any recommendations on this or other cameras would be appreciated.

If you like your HCO Scout Gaurd you will like the Bushnell. It is basically the same camera with a few upgrades!

I can give more suggestions on more cameras if you tell me your preferences. Videos or Pictures, Flash or IR Flash!

I prefer IR. I mainly want video capability both day and night. It would also be nice to have higher quality IR pictures than I’m currently getting with my scoutguard.

I have a Primos 35 and a Primos 46 both take good videos. But I just can’t use high quality pictures and IR in the same sentance. JMHO thou

I have a few videos posted if you want to check them out

Otherwise check under gutone4me on You-Tube

High quality in this case is relative. I would like higher quality than I’m currently getting. Some of the pics Lip posted seemed higher quality than mine in IR.

Bushnell or Cuddy’s are the way to go.

My cam pics/videos I have been posted are Moultrie. The only thing I do not like about the Moultrie qaulity is night time IR vids are only 5 seconds. Day time you can set multiple lengths. They may have changed this with their new cameras. I have the old style IR 40, IR 50 and IR60’s.

I have multiple stlyes of Cuddes, only the Bushnell trophy cam, and about a half dozen different style Moultries. Honeslty, they each have their pluses and minuses and I take that into account when I set them up on different set ups, farms, etc.

I have one Bushnell Trophy Cam that I got this year, it is this years model. Overall, I like it a lot. I haven’t really had any trouble with it. It runs on AA batteries, and has an amazing battery life. I am on the original set of batteries since august 1 and cam has taken at least 1500 pics and a few hours of video. Daytime pics are 8MP, and are of great quality. Night IR pics are pretty decent, although there have been a few times where the deer were a little blurry in IR mode. (antlers blurred with motion)

Good Luck with whatever you decide to try!

Again though, it all depends on what you are looking to do with it.
