They net in the spring because the fish are in shallow in huge numbers. So it is easy. How’s that for an answer?

Seeing that netting has started what are the ice conditions anyway. Was thinkin’ about heading up for some carping in the next week or so. Is it open from Eddy’s along the shore North? Wahkon Bay, Isle Bay? Thanks in advance.

I wish I had the answer to your question Jeremy! I seen some pictures of ice heaves on the shore near eddy’s recently.

Maybe someone in the know can chime in on the current ice-out conditions on millacs?

I don’t think you’ll have a problem on the west or north side finding open water unless the wind shifts of course….

I understand a front should be coming through Friday and Saturday. If that is the case, expect an East wind.

Better get those nets out of the way.

Keep in mind that the FAR majority of the fish in the nets are males. The males are in the shallows for weeks on end and the females only come in for a short time then head back out to deeper water. That is why on the fishing openor’ when fishing 2-10 fOW the far majority of fish caught are males. (It helps me to know that 90%-95% are male in the nets. That is what I have read at least…) RR

Isle Bay looked open on Sunday morning, as far as I could see, doing 20 MPH, looking right and turning left
