This fall, with college and all (I am over in Stevens Point and hunt in Pierce County, about three hours away ) I have very limited time to hunt. With all of the bucks gettin a little aggressive so early and chasin does (have already seen this) is it to early to try to decoy a buck into range?

    Have you ever tried rattling?
If you have limited time I would say go ahead and give it a try, this whole year had been wierd anyway!

IMO, Deer are always curious and the best bow hunters keep an open mind and think out side of the box!

My suggestion would be to skip a little more class. Your on my team and I need your help! Rob may steer you in the wrong direction in the name of bragging rights so read between the lines when he gives advice.

Don’t worry about the points. If I put down either buckzilla (12 point that’ll go 165″) we will be in business. I will get us a doe this weekend, and maybe more. One bonus is I dont have class mondays or fridays

Decoying can be very effective regardless of the time of the season. Remember – it’s strictly a visual thing. If you’ve spotted a buck and need to pull him in closer to bow range, a decoy can help you accomplish that. However, with that being said, I typically don’t like to use a decoy where I see lots of does. Nothing is worse when you have an adult doe stomping and blowing at your decoy.
