Mock Scrape Experiment

About 15 days ago,the deer changed their patterns drastically. Cameras that were getting tripped 15 to 20 times a day were now getting tripped once or twice, with no bucks for over 2 weeks.

I had the chance to stop out to change check cams on the 16th. To try something different, I moved one cam to a field edge right near where I have a plot. Then, I cleared away the grass in about a 2.5 foot circle and tied a branch down for Licking.

I was there and did this all at 3:30pm. First doe in and pawing around in bare dirt at 6pm, spike buck in at 6:45pm, small 6pt in at 7:05, up and comer 8 that I have been watching in just after dark…..Hope they keep getting bigger!

Only problem was that the string I used to tie the branch down didn’t hold very long. Some didn’t seem to mind though, just used a different branch on other side then sniffed around dirt a bit….Heres a few of the pics

Looking good Brad! All it takes is for one little buck to check it out and then the big ones will move in!
