Add 22 pts for team #30. I shot this main frame 10 pt w/split G-2 and kicker at 8 yards while bow hunting on the morning of Nov. 7th in Buffalo County, WI. He grossed 157 5/8″ and is nicknamed “Rocket”.

November 21, 2010 at 2:54 am #93623I have not been helping my team out much but promise you I have been trying. Finally shot a doe this morning that was being chased hard by a little racked 3.5 year old that just wasn’t big enough. Still working for a mature Buck and have a couple guys that want a doe shot so hopefully I can contribute a bit more. Sorry, internet sucks up here and I don’t remember my team number?
November 21, 2010 at 2:59 am #93624Can’t upload my cell pic. Anybody able to help me out so I can text it or email it to them please?
whittsendPosts: 2389November 30, 2010 at 7:06 pm #95007I am SANS PHOTO , but team 18 DID shoot at least one deer this year. (Doe Wed last week)) Actually, I did snap a photo of the “remnants” after I butchered it, but its not exactly a pretty photo.
Understandable if it doesn’t count, but at this point it looks as if our team has about as much chance at winning as does Chili getting to the superbowl…
November 30, 2010 at 11:03 pm #95041Finally got my pictures sorted out. It has been a long season and I think I only have one more weekend and a weekday to find a mature buck before I will hit the ice. The first doe was shot by me during the third weekend on mn gun season. It was a dead calm morning and I could hear spurts of ruckus close by on a ridge but could never see any movement. They would respond to the can call and grunt but had their own agenda. About 20 minutes after last sound at 9:30 am I heard it again and caught movement 150 yards upwind of me whwn a 3.5 year old buck came chasing this girl out of the cover. When she hit the ridge top she turned hard right and sprinted towards me offering a 20 yard shot with my 30-06. Made a good shot which would have been hard not to at that range and she ran about 80 yards down the other side of the ridge and tipped over. The buck was close to being a shooter but just not big enough and I have multiple pictures of him all year long and am sure he lives on the property. next year buddy, hope to meet you again. The next doe was one I shot on sun night for my brother who has been struggling worse than me this season and wanted venison. She and a fawn came out around 3:00 to one of my foodplots that is an intersection with three of the four roads planted with shot plot and clover each around 100 * 20 yards. I caught movement of them crossing the road to my west for an instant and into the cover they went. It was early, usually after 2 weeks of gunshots it feels awesome to see a deer so at least there were some on their feet. About 15 minutes later I heard them coming through the cover and knew where they were going to cross my plot on a well traveled trail. The fawn came out first and then the doe shoed herself, from the way they had crossed to my west I didn’t think their would be a lot of time so as soon as her front half was in the open I squeezed and down she went. This was a bit further of a shot at 30 yards . Why I couldn’t seal the deal with my bow all year I will never know but this big girl was 4.5 and weighed in at 145 lbs dressed Largest doe I have ever taken. Better late than never and here is 10 points for team 28.
Cell phone pics suck for me but you get the idea.
