SO last year I got several good trail cam photos of this buck(s), and at that time he was a nice 8 point, right around 130 class…My dad just went and checked the camera’s and bam!!! I almost died! This is the biggest buck I have seen around my house for as long as I have been hunting (but I’m only 18 ) Or, are these two different deer???? The ones that are infrared look MUCH bigger than the cuddeback. Maybe its just me…what does the one on the right score???

Also, this is on the edge of a property that I can hunt. This buck is bedding on the property beind the camera (120 acres) and the owners do not let anyone hunt on this land. There is a nice ravine that runs right up to where these pictures were taken, and I know that deer use this as a funnel to get to this field. If I ask permission to hunt, should I ask to hunt just this ravine to increase my odds??? I have to put this deer’s rack in my hands this fall!!!

-Let me know what ya think!!

I don’t know what he would score, but I do know that he would look great in the back of the truck!

Looks like a 10 pt to me ???? I would guess with his width, he is pushing 135″

There is no 10th point… and I would think that he would score higher than 135…that buck is 20″ wide at LEAST and his G2’s are probably 10 inches long…maybe I’m wrong…or are these two different deer? I just assumed that they were the same one.

I hate to admit it but these look like 2 different deer! The buck on the Cudde is going to go around 130-135

Thats just fine with me! What would you suggest that the Wildgame Innoations one scores…Cause it is WIDE and TALL!! I shot one last year that scores 135…the middle and right picture put it to shame!!!

    Let’s figure it out. Main beam 23″ x 2 (46″) + 52-54″ tine + 19″ spread + 27″ of circ = 146″ Gross +/- 2″. Now deduct the G-4 (8″) and side to side diff of 4-6″ and you have a 132-135″ Net. Either way it doesn’t matter what he scores. He’s a great looking buck

Gobbler…if these are two different deer, then what does the one on the left score…that deer is WAY over 135 inches. Somebody give me a number!! It’s killing me!

BBD~ welcome to the site btw. I’m looking from my phone and will be able to get a better look at the pics when I get home from work. The hard part w/ a buck that has an odd # of tines, is the deductions. Plus in this situation you have an basic 4 x 5 and based on experience and this site, it takes a he’ll of a 8 pt to go 150″ or better. I want to say this is the same buck and the score that I posted earlier is pretty accurate +\- a couple inches. Maybe you could post a pic of your deer from last year that scored 135″? Did you get the deer from last year officially scored? This way we know what you are judging the buck above to and we are on the same page.

I scored it with a rackulator..I got it during gun season, so there was no point to have it officially scored…unfortunately, I am at college now with no way to get that pic (its on film too ) but looking at it, the spread is bigger than 19 inches. The deer our group has gotten in the past usually measure 16-17 inches from ear tip to ear tip…This buck goes way outside of that. plus, he is so TALL. What do you think it would gross? There are many others that think these are two diffrent deer..I’m just not sure.

I would guess 135-145″ on the middle deer. Just my opinion. I have an 8pt 137 2/8″ on the wall and it took 13 1/2″ G-2’s to make it that big..A little less spread but much more length on mine. Keep in mind a 130″ 8 pt is similar scoring to a 150″ 10 pt minus one set and a 9 is somewhere in the middle… That makes it a nice deer!

My guess it’s the same buck. The reason I say that is because both main beams curl in.

    Main beams – 50

    G1s – 6

    G2s – 18

    G3s – 18

    G4 – 7

    Mass – 30

    IS – 19.5

    Gross Total= 148.5

It sure looks like the same right side curling in, great buck! Agree with Brad, gross in the mid 140’s. Can’t wait until you shoot him and tell us how far off we all were!! Good luck!

You can bet that I will try my hardest. The reason I think this deer is bigger is hat my dad shot a 151 10 point a couple years ago. We had pictures of it standing in about the same spot, and the buck I have pictures of is much bigger than that one… I’m going to gues he will gross high 150’s, but that missing G4 will hurt he score I’ll be sure to let you know when he is riding in the back of the chevy

Thanks for all of the input!!!

Hey Buckdown….just thought I would send ya this link that I use when I am trying to figure about what a buck would score. I used it to figure an approximate net score of about 135″ (9-Scoreable points). A more clear hard-horned photo my lead to more accurate estimates…regardless of what it would score, I think he would make a nice addition to the back of your Chevy. Good luck laying him down! Only two weeks until time!!
