Finally seeing some results

Finally starting to see the results of passing on small bucks and creating mineral sites and food plots for the deer. Last year I put in 3 acres worth of plots in corn, beans, turnips, rape, and clover. This year mostly clover, rape, and turnips. I have been getting an overwhelming number of shots of does and fawns eating, and finally started having a few bucks come around. Kinda odd though, no pics of spikes of baskets yet. Not quite the caliber of some of the other bucks you guys post, but they are getting there! Hopefully these all make it through the year

Edit: I should add that this is a property that we never used to see anything more than spikes and basket-racks. The eight I have here would have been a trophy for this place only a few years back

If you look close you can see that the one on the right in pics 2,3,4 is a 10. It is easiest to see in #2 though. I have the cam in pretty tight quarters, and really am hoping to get a nice full front shot of that deer to figure out how wide he is. They have some great potential to be nice deer. I finally get to pick up the new bow tomorrow, not sure if I will be able to let the 10 walk if the chance comes around during bowhunting….its easy to tell myself I would let him pass now

I hear ya! I would really like to find a 130 class buck out there during bow hunting. From what I have seen so far, he hasn’t shown his face yet. These guys have potential though for down the road, if they can be smart and survive a while yet. I sure hope to be faced with the encounter in the tree that lets me make that decision in about 1.5 months. OR better yet to have the encounter that I don’t even have to think about whether it’s a trophy or not!
