When do you start putting up trail cams for deer. I know it’s early in the season, but traditionally I’ve starting positioning trail cams right around mid July. Anyone else have suggestions?

Had mine up the last 8 weeks. If I see a deer I like come the end of July or so, I’ll pull the camera and watch from a distance and try to pattern him.

I put mine out as soon as turkey season ends, I put mine on water sources and mineral licks. and I try to check the cameras every 15 days. I also try and have them positioned so i can do a drive by on the atv 2 switch the cards so as not to disturb the area any more than I have to.

It is cool watching them grow and start identifying the bucks!
