Rage just released this news at the ATA show this week. It looks pretty interesting but the price is a little spendy. What does everyone else think? If you’re happy rage two blade shooter is the extra $ worth getting the titanium head?

    Rage Launches Titanium Broadheads

Huge Entry Holes And Bone-Shattering Performance.

    Rage Titanium Broadheads

    Rage Expandable Broadheads

SUPERIOR, Wisconsin —-(AmmoLand.com)- The Rage has introduced its ultimate Titanium Rage 2-blade broadhead that combines a space-age metal with the SlipCam rear-deploying-blade design that has revolutionized bowhunting.

With the strength of steel at a fraction of its weight and with twice the strength of aluminum, titanium is the primary metal used in the aerospace industry due to its superb weight-to-density ratio and relatively ductile nature.

Considering the structure and bone density of big-game animals, titanium is the ultimate choice for hide-cutting, bone-splitting devastation.

The top-of-the-line Titanium Rage 100-grain 2-blade’s durability is second to none, and it is designed and tested to withstand numerous hits on bone and soft tissue. Already considered by an overwhelming number of professional bowhunters to be the most devastatingly accurate broadhead design in the world, the Rage raises the bar with the incorporation of titanium construction with the new head. For the bowhunter, this means titanium tough and smaller diameter equals better penetration.

The revolutionary SlipCam rear-blade-deployment system used in the Titanium Rage broadhead offers fully deployed blades immediately upon impact, with no loss of kinetic energy. This results in huge entry holes, gaping wound channels and unprecedented blood trails, and now with the incorporation of titanium construction, the new Titanium Rage has unsurpassed durability and strength for shot-after-shot success.

The Titanium Rage is recognizable by its natural, lustrous metallic color, and it will be sold in packs of three broadheads with a free practice head for $84.99.

The Rage is also available in 100-grain in either a 2-Blade design, with either the new 1.5-inch or the giant 2-inch cutting diameter, or a 3-Blade design, with a 1.5-inch cutting diameter. The new 125-grain 2-blade is also available.

There are quite a few $75.00 plus broadheads out there, so the price doesn’t surprise me. I think the average joe bowhunter is going to be hard pressed to make this switch. No matter the manufacturer or style.
Most of us already have $15.00+ in each shot, so doubling the broadhead cost seems a bit excessive for those of us on “budget”. Although the devil in me also says, really, you are worried about another $40.00. Look how much you spend on everything else dummy.

Do I think they are cool, heck ya. But I’ve been a mechanical broadhead fan for a very long time. So seeing technology keep getting better means we are headed in the right direction. It’s all good in my opinion, I hope the manufactures keep pushing each other. We win in the end.

Did I miss it?? I don’t see any reference to them not making the traditional style heads any longer.

I guess I look at it this way. Archery equipment is expensive, no doubt about it. That broad head is something that I don’t see myself shooting. Currently I shoot a $12 arrow & fletching (Carbon Express Maxima Hunters), $14 broad head (rage 3 blade), $10 lighted nock (Tracer). This $36 projectile works well out of my set up. I had a chance to shoot a more expensive arrow, Aramid KV ($17/ arrow) but I did not see the return on investment on shooting that higher priced arrow. The ones I shoot currently match exceed my capability, so there was no reason to shoot the Aramids. You may say it is only $5 an arrow but that is $60 per dozen.

However, they may be people that are able to get the maximum potential out of the Aramids and more power to them. The same can be said about these Titanium Broad heads but like I said they are not for me. The rest I shoot right now was a $120 and I bet those people that shoot Whisker Biscuits @ $ 40 think I’m crazy. I might be but to each their own. However, I’m not going to sit and bash another product just because it is not for me!

    Very well put Kooty!

Also I agree, they are keeping their normal line up of 2 and 3 blade heads 100 grain heads, a new 125 grain 2 blade and also the 40KE!

I really want to know where they came up with $79.99? I used to shoot Rocky Mountain Titanium 100’s. They are a three blade fixed head that go, if i remember $32.99 So what makes this head any different besides the reputation that it has? Im guessing this is exactly why To me, increasing a price on a product doesn’t mean its going to increase performance

I’m a fan of cut on contact broaheads with a 3 to 1 ratio in a 2 blade single bevel configuration. They are also expensive but the penitration is unmatched out of a trad setup. However it does take much more tuning to get them to fly. The single bevel helps with arrow rotation and will even rotate harder by hitting bone and penetrate through it causing penitration no matter the circumstances. A good broadhead will cost up in that range but when the deer of a lifetime is standing there the price should be the last thing on your mind.

Very good point. Every single extra penny I have goes to Hunting, in particular deer hunting. For an additional $11.67 per head does it really even matter, if it gives me the confidence in my equipment????

My answer is a simple NOPE!

I seen a thread on another forum and one person stated “rage titanium. It’s like throwing your wallet through a deer” Too pricey for me but I’m sure there will be people that buy them.

Great info Darrin. I want to hear the “marketing” on the titanium over the steel blades. Is it shoot over and over? Hold together through bone?

Uses the same blade as the original heads, only the ferrule is Titanium. Tip is also different.

Also, the blades have been modified a bit. Made the notch that grabs on to the o-ring a little deeper so it “holds” onto the o-ring better. Intended to eliminate the blades opening by accident.Example, “Opening in your quiver”, that kind of stuff…. Hope that makes sense.
