I was told Little G couldn’t find a shed if you put it under his nose , so you should be good to go

I hunted in Allamakee 2 yrs ago on public land. I heard the same thing about there not being a lot of pressure but I counted over 12 guys hunting on the piece we spent most of our time and we talked to another guy that was hunting a different piece and there was over 10 guys hunting that piece. These are some pretty big pieces of land but it is some seriously rough terrain. Lots of steep ridges. I have hunted in Colorado for elk and the ridges in Iowa are just as steep but not as long. It took us 2 points to draw there also.

Thats what i was kinda afraid of. Not really sure we want to do the outfitter route, but hunting a crowded area doesnt appeal either! Do you remember what piece of public you hunted? The topo of several public areas is very aggressive for sure!
