A decent spear isn’t cheap, I had a 11 tine custom built by a old timer years ago, $180, but it’s the smoothest throwing spear I’ve ever laid my hands on, nice balance and weight and throws straight. I see decent ones on craigslist pretty often in that 50 range, those look to be the standard big box store spears, I’ve also seen some nicer ones but again expensive. Keep an eye on ebay, craigs or post a wanted here, surely a few guys have gotten out of it and have one laying around. I have a few buds up north, heading up this weekend, we’re getting together to play cards on sat. I’ll ask if they have any they want to part with?? I’ll let you know.

ya birddog they are expensive but the one i saw looked real flimsy and cheaply made i would rather spend the few extra bucks on a nice one vs a cheap one once your past the $100 mark another 40 bucks is nothing
thanks for the quick replys guys

Sledhead, Leave them nice norbys alone, go buy a bow and you can practice on the carp this sping. Then you’ll be all ready for hunting this fall. Call me I take you out to catch some rod benders, I’ve been catching some nice fish.
