.. Certainly not enough time to make him learn from his ways. He is still going to be “that guy”

I could be wrong, but, didnt I hear he was a felon? If so, then any possesion of a firearm is a federal offense… couldnt they go after him for that too???

If they can prove it was shot with a firearm, and prove that he fired the shot, he should be prosecuted. Big if. Felons can hunt with a bow, just not a gun.

I guess Id think if he admitted to killing the deer already, and they proved that it was taken with a rifle…they should be able to put 2 and 2 together.

His “story/lie/BS” is that he discoverd the deer dead. Then shoved an arrow through to claim it as a bow kill.

I’m sorry, but as a redneck with no law degree, I can pick that story apart like you wouldn’t believe.

If nothing else I think this story will make people think long and hard about the hunters they want to be associated with. This story might just end up (unfortunately) being one of the bigger deer hunting stories this year. Only to think if someone had taken the deer legally with any weapon the buzz that would have been created in a positive light rather than a negative one.

Let’s just hope that everyone becomes a little more concious of who we are hunting with and the ethics we are hunting bye.

Exactly, I hope we can atleast get some good out of this. Maybe the next time a poacher is about to pull the trigger they think of this and stop. Its probably dreaming on my part but I hope this stops some people in the future. The DNR is watching no matter what people think and all of your other sportsmen are watching if nothing else!

Hang him on the wall alongside of his deer. Enough said.
