Monster Iowa Deer

    I don’t have many details about this deer. I know he was taken with a bow approx. a 1/4 mile from our farm. I know we’ve never seen him. It’s amazing how these big guys can magically show up, be seen, and disappear for the rest of the year.

    We have 3 deer over 170″ that we know survived last year and have yet to show up. There was a 190″+ on the farm last year with double drop tines that has yet to be seen again.

    I was told this guy green scored 235″.

    Yeah, I had to laugh when my buddy sent me the pic. Hopefully they got some good field shots of that deer.

    Great deer love the bases Kinda makes me angry that people like us do everything possible to eliminate scent and this guy doesn’t seem to worried about it Just an observation

    Pro, in farm country, you’d be surprised what the deer are accustomed to smelling. I know around my buddies place we stomp around in cow pie before hitting the stand. The smell of diesel doesn’t scare those deer much either. The farmers are around them all year long.

    Kooty – congrats on your monster IA buck!

    It has to be you because you are the only person that I know who would shoot a 235 inch buck and take a picture of it with a cigarette hanging out of your mouth!

    Nice derailment.Who cares he has a smoke in his mouth.He’s proud and thats who he is.Not everyone cares about the perfect picture or world as others see it.He probably doesnt know it was going to be on the web or cares.What about the scratches in the truck box??

    Geez, just got this pic from a friend and was going to post an Iowa thread. Both nice racks, crab claws all over the place on the one on the right, but Kooty’s is a lot nicer!!!
