Well got back from 3 weeks off and on more “on” living in a camper tryin to down a big buck with the bow. Had a great rut in Wi and had 2.5 year old bucks chasing all around. I had one chance with a 160 inch 10 point that I had at 10 yards earlier in the season but couldnt get him out of the brush, and still no cudde pic of him . Had several other encounters with a big 10 we call bender and a couple encounters with the big 8. Nothing close enough or not in the shooting lane..Also had a nice 12 come in after dark and couldnt see enough for an ethical shot. My wife told me I didnt prepare enough if it was walking in the brush I must have to clear the whole woods. Not one shooter buck was following a trail just sniffing up and down the ridges. My partner that hunts with me shot his buck and dow on his first morning so it was a long quiet several weeks alone in the woods…but relaxing and started to get frustarating . I did get my first deer, a doe, on video which was pretty cool, you can see the arrow thats still stuck in the tree in the pics with “bender”, it was a good pass thru . Not too many pumpkins hunting the next week where we hunt so Im stayin out of the woods untill after gun season and got a little more then a week of vacation left to bow hunt MN and pheasant hunt. Here’s a few pics af what I was holding out for. I do need more cameras as several didnt show up on camera this year…lookin for an honest review of the new Bushnell camera…looks nice. Good luck all you WI pumpkins or I mean gun hunters coming up next week…Jay

    Fisher for sure.

This one was on my bear bait pile this September. I and some of my friends have actually seen a number of them around the EC area.

Thanks for the excellent recap Jay! I understand why you are holding out for one of those bucks that you have on camera! They are certainly worth it!

I will eventually put out a review on the Bushnell Trophy Camera. Way overdue…. In the meantime, feel free to send me a PM.

    Sweet pics..

If a couple of those boys make it. You’ll have some monsters running around next year.
