Southern Buffalo County. Have to say, least excited I’ve been in years. Didn’t see squat for sign when I went out scouting compared to year’s past.

Dan…BC and not excited to hunt? Let me know and I’ll help you out! Good luck!

Feel free to come down and scout it with me if you want! I saw two scrapes on a whole hill point last weekend. Guess where my stand went! The thing that sucks about it is the only way up is to the complete top from the complete bottom of a big bluff (no top access). Nothing like being a ball of sweat and out of gas right away in the morning.

I got one more area I’ll check in the next day or two in a different place.

Hopefully MB, that area is used by deer trying to escape other hunters. You may not see sign now, but if you “mountain goat” it, you may be rewarded with a biggun trying to get to high ground.

That’s what makes my stand good, thankfully though I have top access!!

Dan, we’ll be down Christmas weekend but I’m guessing that will be a little too late! Maybe we can share a little Christmas this year?

I’m glad I’m not sitting on the east side out in the public land like most years. It’s funny how much public land starts to look like a pumpkin patch as it gets light. I would love to fly over the east side on opening morning.

We use to hunt in Jackson County at a place called Lazy Acres. Awesome campground with great hunting…changed it’s name to Triple R Resort. We left about 16 years ago and now it’s a “Clothing Optional” place! Bet there are a lot of big bucks running around there now! Leave it alone Gut!

I will be hunting opening weekend up in Bayfield county forest… just for traditions sake mostly. Very few deer up there. I would be very surprised if I saw a buck big enough to ‘trip my trigger’. Then it’s back to school for a couple days, then down to Jackson county.

Wood County – Clark County line, I live a few miles east of the 98 curves and hunt 10 minutes south of the house.

Sounds like a bunch of you folks are within a few minutes to an hour from here

    Good Luck!

I was back in Loyal last weekend for our bear party Mark. My buddy and I did a little shining just west of the county line on both sides of 98. Seems to be plenty of deer around and a couple real dandies. They hunt just west of the curves on 98.

I will be out in the Clark County forest. 4th year in the same tree. Hoping for more of the same luck I have had the last 3 years.

Plott, I used to live just on the west side of the Marathon Co line just west of Spencer on 98 just south of Freeman’s and just to the north of McNeely’s gravel pit… Where about in the Forest are you???

Jeff, you are close to where we used to hunt near Weister’s… Our land is south of Lindsay.

My buddy owns a farm just west of the south curve on 98. He doesn’t own much woods, so their family covers that pretty good. I will be out in the Clark County forest. South of Highway I and east of Bald Peak Lane. We usually sit all day saturday and until about 1:00 sunday. Then we get a group together and make some pushes out near Koehler Ford Lane and along the Butler Lanes during the week.
