The wife and I went out Fri morn. We got out in our stands and settled in for the morning sit. Around 8 I heard my wife take two shots. 3 minutes later I caught movement in the woods about 80 yrds. away. Too thick to shoot. Shortly after….there she was (a big doe) trotting straight at me. Boom…as she ran under my stand I saw the blood and she died 15 yrds from me. Sweet! Big Doe Down! Then there was more movement from where she come. Here was her sister standing.I put the crosshairs on and couldn’t shoot because I didn’t know if my wife had a dead deer too. (only two tags left to fill that day) Turned out that my wife missed And she even passed up a doe after her miss to look for the one she had shot at first. Was a great day in the woods with my better half and had some nice game to bring home. Here is a picture of her. I get just as excited over bagging a doe as a buck.

absolutley does are just as much fun. I’m taking my 2 doe hides over to Uber in Owatonna have them tanned, I think those 2 does I shot this year is one of my best hunting memories, plus it’s been 4 years since I shot a double.

When I was up in B.C. moose hunting. The lodge I stayed at had a moose hide tanned and used it as a table cloth. I thought that was really cool, someday I’ll be doing something like that. I’ve seen other guys turn their moose hides into gun cases and other various items. All really cool. I tanned (hair on) one of my spotted Fallow Deer from New Zealand and hung it on the stair railing in my game room.
