Great show boys!!! I have heard rumors this bite is still going on as we speak if you are tough enough to brave the elements. Gonna have to give this a shot next fall!
Maybe I missed it the first time thru, but what style/model of jig are you using? Also, when using splitshot what size hook is used and was it a circle? And, were you buying or catching your bait?
That was a fun/educational show to watch.
Finally got to the computor after a long day of hunting. A good buddy and long time hunting partner arrowed his biggest buck to date this morning All I have is a cell phone pic of it right now and the pic is not fair to the deer so you will have to wait til monday……………
Just a few things to keep ya interested.
Shot Saturday morning November 7
14pts total 8 left 6 right
inside spread of 18″
Mass at bases 7 1/4″
We roughly scored the weakest side (6pt side) and came up with just over 83″ Take that x2 and add the spread and we come up with 182 Pics, details, and a true measurement coming shortly
Jason B is the lucky hunter. Just got word a little while ago it was offically scored and grossed a IMPRESSIVE 189 5/16 Pictures and a full report to come late tomorrow afternoon
well finally got onto the computer and figured i could prolly help in the pics department and storyline… as Eric already mentioned 14 scorable points, grossed 189 5/16,and dressed at 200 lbs. although my facial espression may not show it (not a picture person i guess) i am absolutely glowing to say the least… shot on public land… now a bit of the story… against my better judgement i was antsy to try somthing new as it was still early in the morning and i had success early in the week rattling, telling myself it was too late to do so cause the bucks would have somthing else on thier mind i let out a couple sequences, within a min. i had a spike come from in front of me (not too sure what he was thinking) as he continued past i could hear deep grunts behind me, looking back there was a small ten standing on the other side of a thicket looking for trouble.. short story he eventually left and on my first glance back ahead of me i caught a glimpse of yet another deer, not knowing size besides the body i grabbed the grunt tube and started a series, before i was done the buck turned and started straight at me… it wasn’t until he hit the 50 yd range that i noticed just how big he really was and he kept getting bigger…. those who know me, know that me and keeping composure dont go well together with deer, shaking and freaking out literally, i drew as he crossed behind a tree and he closed to 10 yds… amazingly the arrow was true and the buck went 60 yds before making the distinct “crash”… heres a few of the better pics.. although the one is not a great background i felt it showed his swooping beams and knot holes a bit better than others…
Congrats again buddy, and i have to say you put your time in for this one. 3 weeks straight of sitting in the stand can work on a guy. But i guess when your seeing deer like this it makes it a little easier

I would have to say you done good though
Congrats Jason! That’s one heck of a deer. And off public land no less.
Great buck. Great story. Well done. How old do think that deer is?
gigantron! good job on keeping it together to put an arrow in that thing.
