    Hey Gang,

I’m heading out for the first time on Sunday for my first bow hunting experience. I wondered what you all thought about the weather warming up. We’ve had a wet October and things are drying up and warming up here in Central Iowa now. Sunday its supposed to be in the upper 50’s, the weather for the balance of this week is supposed to be warm. So just wondered what your thoughts were..

On a side note, I saw a really nice buck just off of I-80 Thursday morning on the way in to work. Nice 8 point buck, and I mean almost broke my neck nice…LOL.. he was standing there proud as can be… it was cool..

    I wll say 2 things:

    1. I HATE warm weather deer hunting.

    2. But you CAN’T shoot them if you are not out there hunting!

    Good luck!

All deer that have been seen the last week here have been close to water instead of up in the hills where its drier. That doesn’t mean their not traveling through but with the heavier coats they have put on and them walking alot searching for does they need water to keep hydrated. Bottom ground and anything close by and next to any water source would be a good bet. I walked some of the higher hills yesterday morning and looked for rubs where I thought there might be some and seen some smaller ones but that was all. I talked to Tom and Mike and they said they seen nice rubs and they were closer to the creek. Id hunt any area that had a good used trail(s) next to a water source.
Down in Missouri its supposed to be really warm and also warmer here for the next 10 days and its also been in the 50’s and 60’s the last few days here and it hasen’t detered any action, although I don’t think the intensity is as good as if were colder and stayed there. I think its about 10 to 15 degrees warmer then it should be, especially 10 days from now. Id just find the area where they are traveling alot near water. Good luck
