My nephew and I went out Friday Saturday and today till 2:00 p.m. never saw a deer from our stands. Saw an eight point chasing a doe on a side hill as we were driving to our stands Saturday afternoon around 3:00 p.m.

I may sleep in tomorrow and sit mid morning till evening.

Tried sitting from 1 until dark yesterday and seen one nubby

I feel your pain, on friday I saw 10 deer, 8 does 2 bucks. I went down today and the shotgun boys were stomping around checking stands. I don’t own the land, but I would love to see these guys gone. I am kind of tired of picking up their beer cans and potato chip bags. They were running 4 wheelers 20′ away from us knowing full well we were hunting there and just didn’t care Needless to say tonight I saw zero.

Well I did as you said. Sat in all the other stands this last week hoping and praying I would see a shooter. Nope no shooters once again just a freaken ton of people on a list of different kinds of ATV’s plowing right through my areas. Even went out yesterday morning and had someone cutting wood about 75 yards away not to mention he decided to go on a nature ride. Anyways I havent been able to keep that big boy I spooked up by the front out of my mind so instead of waiting until Friday to sit the stand I went yesterday evening. Sure enough 30 min after I reached my stand I here some movement, I then decided I would use the can call in hopes of pulling in whatever was making the ruckus, 5 minutes later I have the big ten 8 yards away broadside without a shot. He eventually steps behind a 3 foot wide tree giving me the perfect opportunity to draw. As I attempt to draw, my bow catches the EZ hanger and makes a slight bong of a noise which resulted in him bolting the area.

The question now is, will he return for a third time? He really wasnt spooked that bad as I believe I seen him working his scrape line 50 yards from my stand at about 5pm. I gave it today to calm down but with gun season starting tomorrow and this area being a gun free zone according to the owner what should I do? Bow hunt him or gun hunt other areas that more than likely will be harassed with crazy nut-jobs on ATV’s in big bright orange costumes?

he should stick around. deer get used to machinary, tractors, ect . the way it sounds there is alot of human activity in the area, to see him 2x, you know he isn’t going to far. NOW once he smells a hot doe, and starts to chase, it could be game over. good luck
