Dean, what bases do they fit in? (Fish-on, RAM, Folbe, etc?)

All of the above, if on a rail mount so you can put the key-lock on the bottom.Otherwise,Stabil has their own flush mount as shown.

In your show you anchor. What type of anchor do you use and how many do you loose? Is there a better way to hook the anchor up for that type of river fishing?

Kirk one of my dad’s friends that hunts on our property with us shot him sat night. We’ve been hunting this buck for over a year. Last year we had several trail cam pictures of him. I really started to understand him come late season. I had multiple trailcameras on his favorite areas and felt like i had him patterend. Thus I called him the HOPE buck becuase he was my last hope at filling my 2008 buck tag. We played a game of cat and mouse for weeks and I never did lay eyes on him. We had him so pegged we even found his match set of sheds. This year e felt like we had really narrowed down where he was calling “home”. ealier this year we set up a few stands just to hunt this buck. We were waiting to go into these stands until just before the rut. Two weeks ago we got a trail cam pic of the “HOPE” buck, confirming that he was still alive and still where we wanted him. Sat night the wind was right and the deer activivy was picking up and we decided to surround this bucks bedding area. First night in this stand and Kirk got the opportunity of a life time. How amazing to get this buck after hunting him so hard last year and never getting to even see him with the naked eye.

    main frame 11. 12 scoreable.

    Preliminary score of low 160’s.

I’m so glad I got to be there for the recovery. The shot was good but only got one lung so there was a few times we lost blood for a little bit. And kirk wasn’t sure if it was the HOPE buck or not becuase he said “it was so big I stopped looking at the horns” So you can imagine the hoots and hollers we let out when we found the buck and found out who it was.

Congratulations to Kirk for taking the “Hope Buck”. He is simply awesome! It’s always extra special hunting a buck that you have on camera along with matching set of sheds.

Kudos to you and your family too for letting your friend pursue him. It sounds like you are as happy for him as you would be if you shot him yourself. That says a lot about you as a hunter and your character.

Thank you for sharing the hunt and pictures with us.

Great deer and cool story. As Brad said, its cool you are happy for your family friend. I know lots of people that wouldn’t be. I myself like to bring close friends with to set in different stands, at a minimum it lets you know what movement there was in other areas! Great job and a great deer.

the shot went in great. The buck was quartering towards the hunter a little more than he thought.
