I have a TC Omega with the fiber optic sights. The current setup has Red fiber optic in the rear and Green fiber optic in the front. The problem I’m having is that I have a real hard time picking up the red rear one in low light ( Prime time )I contacted TC and they are willing to swap out the sights and replace them with green in the rear and red in the front ( I think that may help some )I believe that I will now have a priblem seeing the red front sight. I’m thinking about having then all green but not sure if that is a good idea or not. Anyone have any ideas of a better sight set up????? I tried my friends with a peep sight in the rear and did not like that at all ( neither does he )I sure wish they would allow us to put scopes on muzzleloaders here in Minnesota. My feeling is if they are going to allow in-line muzzleloaders with 209 primers they might as well let you add a scope as well. it sure would make for more clean kill shots. Thanks in advance for any ideas or feedback.

I know my buddy, took his to Gander Mtn, and they swapped out the red for yellow….. he had a hard time seeing his also. They basically took a knife and popped out the red and had the fiber optic material in a coil, cut it and put it in. He is very happy with how his is now

It has come up in a bill in the past and got defeated, what everyone needs to do is to write there congressmen and let them know how you feel about this so we can get this sent to the house again.

Can you use a 1X scope in Minnesota? I would go that way if they allow it.

not unless you can get a Eye Dr. to sign a form. Tried that last year but the form was to hard for the EYE Dr. to understand and all the Info. about legal action made her say no go.

I put a non magnifying red dot scope on my Remington Genisis ML last year. I know it is not the most expensive set up but I can sure hit the bullseye with it. I too wish you could use a scope in Wisconsin’s ML season, but until that happens I think the Red Dot is the way to go.

Unless Wisc. is different than Minnesota – A red dot is treated as a scope and is not allowed for use on a muzzleloader during the muzzleloader season – Even the non power ones. I checked woth the DNR on that one last year.

I did look at the Wisc. regulations and I see that single power scopes are legal on Muzzleloaders during the muzzleloader season. Not so here in Minnesota. I’d be carefull and make sure your red dot is a single power. A lot of the new Red dots are 2X or even 4X these days. I’d even be happy if Minnesota would allow us to use a single power scope or a single powe red dot here

I use a 1X red dot in WI. I use it for deer on my Thompson Encore and Mossberg 500 for turkey. Completly legal for us. Wish it was for you. In-line muzzle loaders are not really “primitive” anymore anyway
Work a lot better than iron sights.
