If you are going to pull a boat get the V-8. A real hot rod. Mileage difference between the 6 & 8 is very little. I work at a Chevy dealership here in southern Minnesota as a shuttle driver and have driven both the Trailblazer & Envoy. To me the Envoy is the rig. Just my 2 cents.

I have the V8 Envoy and really enjoy it. It tows my 18′ Alumacraft with no problems. A friend of mine has the V6 Trailblazer and I actually get a little better gas mileage with my Envoy. I get 18 – 19 on the highway and about 15 in the city.

According to the GMC web page, for 2008 in order to get the V-8 you will need to get the Denali package. Very nice but, is it worth the $?

He is looking for a used rig.

It will be used with 30k or less miles.

I agree with the others go with the V8, a V6 just has to work too hard to pull bigger boats using more gas and harder on your truck.

I have a Chey Silverado with the V8 that for the most part I use to tow my boat or camper. I have a geo prizm for going back and forth to work and running around town.

I will be looking to sell my 99′ F-150 w/ the 5.4L, I want something for the family, but don’t want to sacrifice too much in terms of power for some light to medium towing applications.

Seems to be a lot less used ones on the market at this time and even fewer of the v-8 option. I imagine as spring approaches people get the itchin for a new ride and more will be available.

We (my wife)have an Envoy XL. Great vehicle straight hwy 22
combined city 16. We have the straight/inline 6 (they don’t have a v-6). lots of torque and no problem pulling our boat.

I’m seeing some scrapes too. Should have moved the camera. I like the close up scrape shots.
