I went to check a spot on some local county property this week and got an eyeful. As I left the road, I noticed some Menards buckets, a cooler and some garbage bags dumped. urine me off. When I came out I went over to inspect and found bottles of a variety of chemical acids a measuring cup and some ball jars with a clear liquid. The buckets were new and had a stir stick in them. Holy s—!! A meth lab???
Contacted the WW Drug Task Force and they checked it out. Turns out it was a gold extraction lab, and likely stolen property they were extracting. They couldn’t believe the carelessness. Some of the guys are also sportsman and they were pissed off too. Turned it over to the DNR and they hopefully can check the purchase with Menards and find the idiots. They’ll also need to clean it up as a hazardous waste site. That means we pay to have it cleaned up. urine me off again.
Worst part of this story is they did it right on a main trail. I did still find good sign in there but will probably need to let it cool for a while after they clean it up.

That’s the first I have heard of a gold extracting site. Weird, I thought the same thing you did. Meth……
