My motto has always been that you can’t teach stupid. Slobs like that never seem to learn unfortunately.
I had a guy last year that placed a stand less than 30 yards from me and put his bait pile within 10 yards of my stand. (In WI where 2 gallons of bait is legal.) When I confronted him about the large amount of bait that was near my stand, and my concerns that I would be blamed for the acessive amount of bait, he had no clue what the ethical thing to do was…I was told that there are other hunters in the area and that was the end of the conversation.
I ended up moving my stand, right after I removed the excess amount of bait from his pile. Also left a note on his stand stating my intentions to contact TIP regarding his excessive baiting procedures…
Personally, I have no patience for people who cannot abide by the rules, and keep our resources clean. There are way too many anti-outdoors lobbyists around these days that attempt to pass additional legislature on our passion, and I feel that we all need to set a positive example every time we venture outdoors.
