What you can do with a HOYT in the early season

Sorry it took so long to get somthing posted but I don’t work by a computor and I have kids, so time is very limitted. So with that being said here is the story. I got out to the woods at about 5:15p.m. I was going to go to my stand in the oak woods to hunt the acorns, until I got out of the truck and relized the wind was wrong. So I went to plan B wich was a stand on the edge of crick bottom were I had taken a good buck last year on the wed.after opener. So after about an hour the deer started filtering into the 2 year old corn field that has been put into CRP.Then at 6:50 the monster buck came out at about 200 yards. I had decided then that he would be a good buck to pursue not expecting him to ever come my way. After watching him eat in the feild with ten other does for twenty minutes he started heading my way. To make a realy long story short at 7:25 he took a Rage Expandable from 40 yards ran back into the field about 30 yards and died I just want to add a huge thank you to my pals who helped retreive my buck I could not have done it with out you guys

    Great Post and congrats Joe!

But you forgot to add that your wifey gave you the cold shoulder on Monday night when you said you were heading out…..which is the ONLY reason you were on stand Tuesday night. Sometimes it goes that way! But that doesn’t give anyone a reason to back down when getting challenged on a night on stand.

    Congrats again Bud!

    Congrats

Thanks for taking the time to share with us. I think that is how some of us make it through the day until we can sit in the woods again!

nice deer how did the rage do for you where did you hit him pass through? I’ve killed two animals now and I’m still on the fence. Not to start a big debate.

Kind of funny how things come together sometimes and although it seems like things are not going your way, it all works out in the end. I think everyone needs a lil luck in their favor to harvest a mature whitetail.

I agree 100% LIP! The main thing is being out there. It’s overused but so true, cannot shoot a big buck while you’re sitting on the couch. Get out there and good things will happen!
