Went out to place the game camera in an area I have two stands. Not a real big area, only to find someone else has placed a blind about 20 yards from my stand. I talked to the farmer earlier this year and he mentioned some others were given permission to hunt this land as well. Who would of thought they would have placed a blind right on top of me. What do I do? Should I move my stand? I dont like walking in to stands where I know other hunters are present, especially when there is that chance they have the shoot at movement mentality. This really ticks me off, this area last year was ideal during the rut, and a decent early season location with beens and alfalfa being the main field choices.

Oh forgot one thing, this same field had two dead button bucks in it last year during mid week of the gun season. It seemed that someone was shooting and leaving.

This reminds me of our opening morning last weekend. One of my buddies was in his stand early saturday morning and about 10 minutes before legal shooting hours he seen someone walking through the woods with a flashlight. We went and talked to the farmer after we were finished hunting in the morning and he said he didnt give anyone else permission to hunt. Havent seen him since.

I would talk to the farmer to see if he indeed gave someone else permission. If he did, I would write a nice note sharing that you have a stand right by his blind. Maybe he didn’t see it… Just tell them that you both should communicate so your not screwing up each other’s hunt. Leave him your name and number so he can call you. Who knows… maybe he’s a good guy just like you.

x2. Many hunters go about their business and may not know others are hunting there also and may not ever saw your stand.

I have that problem on the family farm, and these are my relatives!!!!!! The problem here is I see alot more quality deer then the rest they think they can sneak up in my little area, This screwes up not just me but him and everyone around. They need to find there own area and do the homework just like I have… Thats why I don’t show or tell about game camera picture I have until season is about over……
