Many of us have been there little g. Keep your spirits up and give him some time until morning. Hopefully you can pick up the blood trail again and find em’.

Good luck and please let us know the outcome.

Little G, you did the right thing by waiting overnight. Hopefully you can find him in the morning. I was on the DNR website and I do believe it is legal now to track a deer with a dog as long as you are not carrying a weapon. So if you know anyone with a dog that has good tracking skills, it may be worth it.

You did the right thing for sure! Funny this was mentioned. My brother has a lab that has a way of finding dead deer. I’ve used him twice, and with out a doubt, would have never found them without him. I lost the blood trail on a fat doe I hit too far back a few years ago in sconny. I let Maverick smell my arrow and off he went. Unbelievable!

Way to find him, and way to lay off til the am!!

Yup, as far as I understand it is legal to trail a deer with a dog in WI as long as you aren’t carrying a weapon. Definately worth a try for guys who are in that next day uncertainty zone…

Great job can’t wait to see him. As fast as things are starting this year and talking with other people also, I think we are going to see some great deer hit the ground this year!

Heck no, the arrow would get hooked on something ,the string would then bust and you are in the same situation. Works for carp shooting
