If anyone is still teetering on the brink of losing all sanity. This ought to do it and send you over the edge!
Geeze I’m pretty sure that will put me over the edge thanks!!! Bad enough i seen one where i play and he’s been on the brain for a month now
wow!! you know what state?? All those bucks with him are still great bucks too
Be nice too see that big fella walk by the stand sometime this fall. I like the drop tine too!
When they zoomed in.. I think I saw Juaires tag on that drop tine already….
Take Him
my guess is Urbandale, IA. he mention’s it while videotaping. Another IA GIANT!!!
Yep I read somewhere he bought a piece of property close by to build on and it sounded like it was on the edge of town some where, but it was Iowa.
What I found weird is did you see how close they were to the deer? The deer could see them and it seemed like they could care less. The other ting I noticed is did you see where the drop came from? The drop actually comes off the G2 which is kind of different! I like that younger (smaller) one in the beginning when he gets a squirrelly in front of the big one.
I thought he might’ve said Carbondale, and that area of IL has big deer too.

On 8/15/09 my wife and I were lucky enough to have our video camera when we came across these great bucks near the lot that we are going to build our house (in Urbandale, Iowa
I was wondering the same thing because I looked at the trees and it looked similar to alot of places down this way, I also know northern Missouri has alot of the same scenery. Urbandale is a suburb just north of DesMoines. I counted 14 tines that were around 12″ or bigger just in that herd. Almost anywhere where theres a river bottom here in eastern Iowa theres hillsides halfway closeby and 75% or better are covered with trees like whats in the background. This is common postercard scenery and seeing bucks like this dosen’t surprise me a bit. Meadows with hillsides that are along a river bottom and you will see deer. I minimualy hunted a place 90 miles north of here last year, too busy with flood work to hunt more, that looked similar to this and this year I’ve got a couple places next to eachother that are very similar to what this looks like and right outside of town.
This is no lie but I’ve got to tell you, My friends George and Jerry seen a group of bucks last year after they shed thier velvet that walked from east to west behind a couple houses, they crossed a street and then behind another house and then went down through the timber. George showed me the spot. Im not going to say the exact number there was but it was a few more then 6 just in that group and no does, all bucks of various ages.
If anyone is thinking about fileing for a liscense here and dosen’t have a place to hunt just google eastern Iowa and look for the river bottoms with hills and you’ll see deer. Unless you know of a perticular spot one place is just about as good as the other to start knocking on doors.
What Iowa there’s no big bucks here . That must be Buffalo co. WI LOL . Wow that one is a true giant. What an outstanding animal .
