My Jungle plot is looking real good , used it as a barrier around the beans , you can see in some of these pictures how the vinging soybeans work and make it very thick My son and I walked down and looked over the plot Sunday and we jumped a doe and her small fawns taking a nap in it

Very cool – looks great GMAN!

Please tell us more about “the jungle plot” , why you planted it as a barrier around the beans and why you feel that it’s an effective food source for deer.

Looks great GMAN…our local archery shop carried that Jungle plot and I was thinking about using this year but wasnt sure…Looks to be a great visual barrier and should make those big bucks have to come out and around instead of just scanning the beans for their does…looks great may have to give it a try next year…thanks for the pics…Jay

Put the jungle plot around the beans so when the deer come out into the plot they will feel safe and secluded . Put the cams out this weekend ( big 8 has been sucked in ) It’s a great food source now and in the fall with a blend of vining soybeans , sweet sorghum, cow peas, kenaf and forage soybeans . Some they will eat now and the rest should grow 6-10 feet tall for all winter eats Maybe we can get Ben “whitetails4ever” to talk some about this product! Thanks for helping with this plot and getting me the ” JUNGLE ” Ben

Great pics GMAN!!! It’s looking very nice. The Jungle plot is a seed blend by Nutr-plot called Forage Ultra. In GMAN’s case we basically planted an L shaped barrier with the Jungle around about 1 acre of soybeans. Couple reasons for the barrier, main reason like GMAN said, to keep the deer secluded and feeling safe in the food plot. That will promote less nocturnal activity if they know they are safe in a food source. The other main reason, is to keep unwanted traffic on the roads from molesting the deer in the food plots. The barrier will block off anyone trying to glass from the roadway. If there were no barrier, everyone and their brother could glass the plot from the road. This unique blend will create up to 12 tons of plant matter per acre and numbers reaching +25% in protein levels. Great for the summer and fall months, and if you’ve ever hunted over standing beans late season I don’t need to tell you what a magnet they are.

If you have any other questions about this seed blend or any other blends from Nutri-plot let me know. We’ll be plants our fall plots in a couple weeks.

One more thing about theses plots. We use another really cool product called Nutr-plot Fertilizer & Attractant. This is a liquid foliar fertilzer, meaning the plants absorb it through the leaf system instead of the root system. And what it does is, it makes the plants produce more sugars, ultimately making it sweeter and more palatable for the deer. Really cool stuff, and the deer go nuts over it.

Wowzers does that look good. All the food and cover they’d ever need, and by planting a rain-forest you’re providing them with water also.

Good luck hunting over that stuff G!
