I have quickly put together some Video Clips of some of my trail camera clips from my Evolved Harvest Metro Area Food Plot here in the last few weeks. Watching them gives me a sense of sitting on stand and hunting. No bucks yet, but still gets my blood pumping. I have a doe with twins and a doe with a single coming in at all times of the day. The other day it was 1 pm and all 5 were there my plot.

    I hope you enjoy!

    Oh I had other clips!

I put that clip in there for you and Joel! I had a Tom cut across the field but he must of eleuded my cameras. Either that he went under the canopy and radar.

Rob, your plot looks about as good as it gets! Very plush and green. Mine is green too with weeds.

Rob, did you do a ph test on this site? If so what did you have for a ph?

    Thanks guys!

The cameras that shot these video clips were a Moultrie I40 & I60.

Honestly, I did not have time to test soil PH here. It was a last second plot only because it was too wet up North to do my plots up there I had a piece of equipment (Skid Steer) to clear this area out. It was full of dead trees and crap. I disced it, limed it, disced it again. Fertilize and Planted it. What I have found with this plot and others is if you go through the extra effort of really prepping the sub soil and killing (spraying) existing weeds, the plot usually turns out pretty good. I do have a few weeds in this plot but not many. The other thing I have on my side is this area is known for it’s sod fields, so the soil in this area probably is pretty good for growing and it is showing.

My only debate now is do I mow it down once to regenrate good growth????????

I hate to do it as it looks perfect, but

…thus proving the wild turkey’s superiority as a game species.

Careful Joel, I have seen 3 Toms in that Plot and plenty of Hens and Chics. I have yet to see a single buck in there, even a spiker.

    Now who is superior?

I just put out my cameras tonight, how often do you guys check your cameras? Last year I was checking them once A week but I have been told you should only check them once every two weeks so you do not put too much pressure on the deer.

Steve, I have been checking mine once a week but decided to check twice a week now so I’m not in there all the time.

Steve, this one I check once a week, but most of my cameras it is every 3-4 weeks during non hunting times and it depends during the hunting season. Unlike some, I like to put my camera very close to my treestands. That way when I go in to hunt a stand I like to check my cameras. that way I’m scent free as possible and I’m already going in to hunt so I leave less trace in the woods thus having lower impact on my hunting area. Something that has work pretty good for me.
