Here’s another string of pictures of my buck being mounted by Mark and Wendi Vruno. The final picture is of Mark standing next to the semi-completed mount. It still needs to dry and then Mark will do the finish work on it.

The pose used on this buck is an aggressive one, that’s why the ears are back on it.

I’ll post more pics when it’s complete.

Kevin, Great idea to share the behind the scenes. Wendi looks like she’s thrilled to be sewing him up. One of my friends is my taxidermists and have been lucky enough to witness the progression too. It takes a true ARTIST to bring our trophies back to life. Thanks again for sharing!

BTW, that is an awesome buck!!!

Thanks Coppertop. It was fun to watch and photograph the progress as it happened.

Wendi didn’t seem to mind doing the sewing. She volunteered for it! LOL She also removed the cartilage from the ears.

Mark said he’s going to do some tweaking on it tomorrow before it sets up. Then he’ll have to wait for it to dry to do the finish work. I’m really anxious to get it home and hang it on the wall!

Very cool and interesting post Kevin!

That is one impressive buck there! I’m sure you posted the particulars last Fall but what did that bad boy score again?

Good stuff Kevin, and a beautiful deer! Fascinating to watch the procedure, as I’ve never seen alot of what goes on behind the scenes.

Thanks guys! Yes, he’s a dandy buck but Mark deserves all the credit for bringing him back to life. He used a new form that was computer generated and used eyes that look very realistic. It was really fun to watch it all come together. I’m anxious to see it with the final touches put on.

Yes protour, it was a fast turnaround. I just shot him last fall.

Live4PassThrough, he scored 156″ gross and 152″ net.

Congrats on the GREAT buck. It looks amazing.

I’ve only seen the finished product, never the beginning stages. Very cool.
