Im looking to buy a new release for bow hunting and was wondering what everyone was using out there. Nothing too expensive.. The one i have now is really old. Its a ball bearing one that i have had since i was 12 years old. What should i get???

I shoot the Mongoose or Lil’ Goose by Scott Archery. I picked them up for around $50. Their Customer service is also top notch.

I got the one with the Buckle, Velcro in the woods is lil noisy. They may not make the velcro anymore?????

I have shot both the tru ball and scott. I currently use the lil goose and have not had one problem in four years of use. My vote goes to scott archery/ lil goose

‘Nother for the Lil Goose. Been using it for years, and only when I dropped it in some riverbank sand did I have any issues. Cleaned it out with some air and it’s been rock-solid since.

I’m going to have to throw in the TruBall short and sweet. Have had it for four years now and love it. You need to shoot a D-loop with it but its small and easy to attach to the loop thanks to the open design of it. This is nice when you never have to look to attach the release. I have always had good clean releases with it, and am lovin it still

Ultimately, everyone will have a favorite, and there’s many that will do the job. I use a thumb activated trigger (TRU Ball Pro Diamond) It works well for me, has an adjustable trigger, and best of all, I shoot pretty well with it. Pick one that fits you well, with an adjustable trigger and practice, practice, practice.

I’ve been shooting a Trufire Hurricane since I started a couple years ago, but I’m considering the Tru Ball short and sweet or the Carter Quickie for my next release. I like the open hook design and the compact design. Price is higher for both, but compared to the release I have, I understand why.
